Professional and local talented
amateur musicians perform a varied programme of
both instrumental and vocal music to suit all
tastes.
Admission £5 on the door

Dr David Littrell
University Distinguished Professor of Music at
Kansas State University, Dr David Littrell stops
off in Carlisle on his tour of England to give
a solo cello recital to include J. S. Bach’s
Suite No. 1 in G Major and some ‘fiddle
tunes’ arranged by Renata Bratt. Not to
be missed!

Jordan English
The Cathedral Organ Scholar joins us for a recital
of music ranging from the baroque period to the
modern era to include Bach’s Prelude and
Fugue in A major and Vierne’s famous Carillon
de Westminster.

We welcome ND performing arts students to perform
a variety of songs from contemporary music theatre
and popular culture.

Jager Brass Quintet
The second brass group to come from the Royal
Northern College of Music, Manchester in as many
seasons promises to provide an entertaining variety
of genres for brass quintet including, Classical,
Jazz and Swing.

Ben Kearsley
Scottish born guitarist, Ben Kearsley brings a
flavour of Spain to the Cathedral and entertains
us with a flourish of traditional Spanish music.

Edward Taylor Organ
Cathedral Assistant Organist Edward Taylor performs
his first official recital at the Cathedral. A
varied programme to include works by Vierne, Whitlock
and J. S. Bach.

Sarah Wall
Bahamian born British mezzo-soprano Sarah Louise
Wall joins us from her now more local home on
the west coast of Cumbria. Sarah will be presenting
a varied programme of sacred baroque classics
through to 20th century opera and English song.

Cockermouth Harmonic Society
The local choir perform works by Britten and Finzi
under the baton of their new director Ian Thompson.

Hugh Davis
Former Assistant Organist of this Cathedral Hugh
Davis returns to present a recital of exhilarating
music spanning across the centuries.

Ladies in harmony WI Choir
This Lancaster based Ladies WI choir joins us
as part of its tour of Cathedrals around Britain.
Performing many popular songs, this concert is
likely to be a sell out, so get in quickly!

The Assistant Organist of the Cathedral plays
music from Denmark and Russia to include the gargantuan
‘Commotio’ by Carl Nielsen

The Assistant Organist of Ely Cathedral takes
the organ through its paces with an enjoyable
programme to include many favourites of the organ
repertoire.
