Ticket concessions

Young persons 18 years and under are admitted free.

Students are admitted for half price.

Wheelchair users are permitted to be accompanied by one companion free of charge.

Ticket details

Please refer to the details of the seating plans in the Cathedral. Please note that:-

All the concerts and recitals are held in the Cathedral except those as indicated in the Festival Programme details.

The seating for all the evening concerts held in the Cathedral is as shown on plan 1.

There is reserved seating in the Presbytery and Canons' Stalls areas (coloured yellow on the seating plans) for all the evening concerts. Other seats for the evening concerts and all seats for the daytime recitals are unreserved.

Seats in the Cathedral Well and the North and South Aisles have a restricted view.

Please note that car parking is not available in the Cathedral grounds. There are several car parks situated nearby.

The Schubert Concert

Book only through The Sands Centre.

Booking opens on 6 May 2008

Please include your name, address and telephone number with your ticket request and send it, together with a cheque made payable to Carlisle City Council and a stamped addressed envelope, to the above address. Your tickets will be posted to you.

Paying for your tickets

By cheque
Cheques should be made payable to “Carlisle City Council”

By card
Payment by Visa, Mastercard, Solo, Switch or Delta.

Please note

We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.

Latecomers to performances will not be admitted until a suitable break can be found in the programme.

All photography, videoing and the use of recording equipment is strictly prohibited.

All mobile phones must be switched off and alarm watches silenced during the performances.

Carlisle Festival Limited will take all reasonable action to ensure the performance of the published programme but reserves the right to change artistes and programmes or cancel a concert in the event of circumstances beyond its control.
